Gale (Tim) Timmerman, 79, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, formerly of Newport, Oregon, died Friday, July 5, 2013 at his daughter's home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Gale was born on October 5, 1933, the son of Marion and Grace (Saunders) Timmerman in Samuels, Idaho. He grew up in Newport, Oregon, where Gale received his education. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Gale was united in marriage to Judy Wade on October 23, 1953 in Newport, Oregon. Gale and Judy have lived in numerous places throughout the world, during Gale's career in commercial property management. During their retirement years they lived in Tucson, AZ and enjoyed life together. Gale was an artist, specializing in paintings and sculptures. He loved to entertain his friends and family. Gale was known for his sense of humor and always had a new joke to tell. He lived his life to the fullest and will be missed by many. Gale is survived by his wife, Judy Timmerman of Detroit Lakes, MN; two sons, Andrew Timmerman of Medford, OR; Michael (Vicki) Timmerman of Hubert, NC; one daughter, Krista (Douglas) Timmerman-Johnson of Detroit Lakes, MN; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Middy (John) Hurliman of Cloverdale, OR; Dixie Padello of Las Vegas, NV; numerous nieces and nephews. Gale was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jack, four sisters, Betty, Faye, Norma, and Jo.
