Robert P. "Bob" Gill, 68 of Scottsdale, AZ passed away unexpectedly at his home on Pelican Lake on July 10, 2013. Our beloved husband and father was born January 10, 1945 in Shawnee, OK to B. Frank and Oletha (Lowe) Gill. He spent his youth in Shawnee and graduated from Shawnee High School in 1963. He then attended Oklahoma University where he studied Business and was a proud member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Bob was hailed as a true Boomer Sooner' from start to finish. After college he went on to study Mortuary Science in Dallas, Texas. Bob married Nancy Stolee in December of 1967 in Grand Forks, ND. The couple moved to Grand Forks where Bob spent many happy years working as a Funeral Director at Norman Funeral Home. It was at this time that Bob acquired the nickname "Digger" which he proudly answered to on many an occasion. In 1975 Bob made a career change and joined the team at Border States Electric Supply Company. B.S.E was the Love of his Life'. Throughout this time period Bob, Nancy and their family lived in Grand Forks, Bismarck, Fargo and Phoenix. He had the privilege to serve in many different capacities within the company and was a member of their Board of Directors for many years. The relationships that he had the good fortune to develop in this industry have remained with him throughout his lifetime. His charismatic warmth and humor were the glue throughout his life that engaged people and forged new and binding friendships everywhere. After his retirement from Border States, Bob founded Power-Tech Sales in Scottsdale, AZ - an independent company representing electrical equipment manufacturers. The company was acquired by Deloney Co. based out of Texas. After his second retirement in 2010, Bob was able to spend more time at his adored summer home on Pelican Lake in Minnesota, and pursuing his other interests of: Family, Friends, Golf, Travel, Boating, Hunting, Fishing, Cards, Real Estate and a glass of Mirassou on his pontoon boat promptly at 5:00!! Bob was a previous member of The Exchange Club, a board member of the Community First Bank of Fargo, ND, Board Member of Border States Electric Supply Company, various business organizations, ND State Board of Embalmers, the Paradise Valley Methodist Church, and the Paradise Valley Country Club. Bob is survived by his wife, Nancy: two daughters, Christine (Dan) Bergstein, of Scottsdale, AZ; Suzanne (James) Maring, of Fargo, ND; one son Michael Gill, of Fargo, ND; and three grandchildren, Ethan and Ava Bergstein and Isabella Maring and other extended family relatives.
