Lillian V. Meeks age 86 of Osage, MN died September 9, 2013 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, MN. Lillian Violet Meeks was born March 23, 1927 in Chisholm, MN to Arvid and Aune Longfors. The family moved to Snellman, MN when Lillian was a young girl. She grew up there and attended the Shell Lake School. She moved to California to work in the Shipyards during WWII. It was there that she met Louis Meeks. They were married on November 9, 1945 in Reno, Nevada, and made their home in Parkersburg, W. Virginia. They moved to Snellman, MN in 1951, where they raised their family. Lillian loved being a housewife, mother, and grandmother. She always enjoyed doing things for others. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, rug making, gardening, working puzzles, reading, and playing cards and softball. She is survived by her husband Louis; three daughters, Lois (Lyle Tabbut) Mastin, of Pelican Rapids, MN; Brenda (Robert) Wickline, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Bonnie (Anthony Fairbanks) Meeks, of Osage, MN; four sons, Louis (Elaine) Meeks, of Park Rapids, MN; William Meeks, of Detroit Lakes, MN; Robert (Tonya Harris) Meeks, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Charles (Carolyn) Meeks, of Ogema, MN; eighteen grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Nesbitt, of Seattle, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents; three daughters, Carol Nickolauson, Mary Gillette, and Nancy Meeks; one brother, Richard Longfors; one daughter in law, Mary Meeks; and one son in law, Larry Gillette.
