Lester Norfield Lade, 86, rural Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at his home under the care of Hospice and his family. Lester was born on July 31, 1927, the son of David and Anna (Gloxzin) Lade in Millerville, Minnesota. He attended country school in rural Ashby, Minnesota. Lester was united in marriage to Eleanore Sternberg on October 18, 1950 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Ottertail County, Minnesota. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Duluth and later to Rothsay, Minnesota. In 1954, they purchased their farm in rural Detroit Lakes. Lester worked at Swift for a few years and eventually started their dairy farm, which Lester and Eleanore ran for forty-two years. Lester enjoyed playing the accordion and piano. He truly enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and grandchildren. Lester is survived by his wife, Eleanore Lade of rural Detroit Lakes, MN; son, Wesley (Bonnie) Lade of rural Detroit Lakes, MN three grandchildren, Kyle (Beth) Lade, Alyson (Todd) Jensen and Troy (Jathany) Lade; five great-grandchildren, Brodi, Macy, Tally, Brooklyn and Paige; one brother, Willard (Betty) Lade of Long Prairie, MN; one sister, Phyllis Brevig of Edina, MN; numerous nieces and nephews. Lester was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Sharon Lade, one brother, Norman Lade, two sisters, Vivian Robertson and Lucille Lade.
