Valorie Joy Beyer, 57, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Sanford Health, Fargo, North Dakota. Valorie was born on July 21, 1956, the daughter of Donald and Joyce (Schroeder) Beyer in Fargo, North Dakota. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Detroit Lakes where she was raised and educated. Valorie worked on the Oak Haven Ranch in Frazee for many years, prior to working at the Holiday Inn and as a CNA at St. Mary's Nursing Center in Detroit Lakes. She later worked at Snappy's for several years until retiring due to health issues. Valorie enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and gardening. One of her favorite pastimes was attending Moondance Jam and socializing with friends and family. Valorie was a wonderful person to count on with an immense amount of strength, humor and love. Valorie is survived by her mother, Joyce Beyer of Detroit Lakes, MN; three sisters, Jonell (Don) Sapp of Perham, MN; Kathy (James) Braseth of Fargo, ND; Tammy Vezner of Detroit Lakes, MN; three brothers, Dale Beyer and Laurel Beyer both of Frazee, MN; Michael Beyer of Detroit Lakes, MN; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephew; her beloved dog, Sophie. Valorie was preceded in death by her father, Donald Beyer.
