LeRoy Arnold Myren, 78, of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota died Friday, April 11, 2014 at St. Catherine's Living Center, Wahpeton, North Dakota. LeRoy was born on June 9, 1935, the son of Arnold and Alby (Anderson) Myren in Cambridge, Minnesota. He was raised and educated in Cambridge. As a young man at the age of 17, LeRoy enlisted in the United State Air Force. He was united in marriage to Mary Pelowski on October 28, 1961 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Because of LeRoy's military career they lived in various places in the United States, until 1975 when he retired from the United States Air Force. They moved to Detroit Lakes, where they owned and operated the Highway 59 Motel until 1985. After retiring from the Motel, LeRoy continued to work various jobs. LeRoy enjoyed playing guitar, hunting, fishing, watching the Vikings and Twins games and his many trips to the casino. He truly treasured his time spent with his children and grandchildren. LeRoy is survived by one daughter, Vicky (Les) Lindsay of Wyndmere, ND; three sons, George (Jodi Anderson) Myren of Detroit Lakes, MN; James (Therese) Myren of Milwaukee, WI and Vincent Myren of Waukesha, WI; six grandchildren, Rachel Myren, Jordan Myren, Allyson Lindsay, Ryan Lindsay, Kathryn Myren and Vincent Myren; sister, Lois Rouser of Atwater, MN; brother, Lyle (Carol) Myren of Minneapolis, MN; numerous nieces and nephews. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary (2012), brother, Larry Myren, sister-in-law, Doris Myren and brother-in-law, John Rouser.
