Darrell G. Vizenor age 73 of Rochert, MN died June 15, 2014 at Golden Manor Assisted Living, in Detroit Lakes, MN. Darrell Gene Vizenor was born June 20, 1940 in White Earth, MN to Emil and Helen Fingalson Vizenor. He grew up and attended school in Richwood, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at Richwood Lutheran Church. As a young man he worked on a number of area farms. On October 3, 1964 he was united in marriage to Jean Gerlach in Albert Lea, MN. Darrell worked as a mechanic for Gabor Trucking, and for Lakes Paving, both of Detroit Lakes. He later owned and operated Vizenor Repair in Rochert, MN. He also did carpentry and upholstery work. Darrell loved time spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time on Buffalo Lake, and riding his motorcycles. He was also very instrumental and active in the Boxing Program at the Boys Club in Detroit Lakes. He is survived by his wife, Jean; one daughter, Dawn Vizenor, of Detroit Lakes, MN; one son, Shane (Jessilyn) Vizenor, of Fisher, MN; five grandchildren, Danielle Vizenor, Chris Vizenor, Kody Vizenor, Brittany Moran, and Brady Moran; five great grandchildren, Madison, Zachary, Mason, Avery, and Peyton; one sister, Shirley (Richard) Larson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; three half sisters, Kathy Hazelton, Annette Dibley, and Beverly Wang; many nieces and nephews; and his friend Sarah, at Golden Manor Assisted Living. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a half sister, Lynda Mincey.
