Michael P. Vyborny age 60 of Detroit Lakes, MN died July 26, 2014 at his residence, under care of the Hospice of the Red River Valley. Michael Paul Vyborny was born on December 6, 1953 in Rockford, Illinois to Paul and Doris Johnson Vyborny. He grew up and received his education in Rockford, graduating from Harlem High School in 1971. He worked as a purchasing manager for ELCO in Rockford, Illinois for 23 years. On February 23, 2002 he was united in marriage to Nancy Ballard in Callaway, MN. In 2007 they moved to Detroit Lakes, MN and Mike started working for Team Industries in Bagley, MN. Mike enjoyed many things in life, including fishing, music, and traveling. He especially enjoyed his trip to China as well as traveling with his brother in law Bob to attend Iowa Hawkeye wrestling matches. He was also known to be a good cook. He enjoyed entertaining, trying new restaurants, and making people laugh. Time spent with his grandchildren was very special to him. He is survived by his wife Nancy; two sons, Brian (Cameron) Ballard, of Philadelphia, PA; and Travis (Jody) Ballard, of Detroit Lakes, MN; grandchildren, Lacey and Hailey Ballard; and Kennady and Quentin Ballard; three sisters, Mary (Gerry) Gurney, of Belvidere, IL; Pauline Vyborny, of Loves Park, IL; and Peggy (Bob) Lenz, of Rockford, IL; parents, Paul and Doris Vyborney, of Machesney Park, IL; three nieces, Carrie (Jeff) Johnston; Teri (Matt) Hoffman; and Deanna Lenz; one nephew, Kyle Lenz; four great nieces and nephews; and father and mother in law, Gene and Doris Schermerhorn, of Callaway, MN; three brothers-in-law, Jeff (Antonette) Schermerhorn of Canadian, TX; Perry (Lynda) Shermerhorn of Gig Harbor, WA; William (Pat) Smith of Camas, WA; two sisters-in-law, Jenni (Tim) Shea of San Marcos, CA; Amy (Tim) Nelson of Rochert, MN; numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Douglas Health Care Foundation (Surgery Center- Alexandria, Minnesota)
