Larry Grant Bauste, age 71 resident of Detroit Lakes, MN died Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND. Larry Bauste was born April 21, 1943 in Tullahoma, TN to Lloyd and Irene (Grindeland) Bauste. Larry grew up in Wildrose, ND and attended Wildrose School where he graduated from high school in 1961. Following graduation he attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND where he earned an undergraduate degree in Psychology in 1965. After his graduation from UND Larry attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where he earned his Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology in 1971. As a Clinical Psychologist, Larry dedicated his life to serving others through his work in a wide variety of mental health and medical settings. His most recent service was at the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND where he served as the Clinical Psychologist for their Pain Clinic. Larry was united in marriage to Deanne Borgeson in July 1984 in Grand Forks, ND. Larry and Deanne loved to travel, spend time with family, and enjoy the peace of their home on Long Lake. Larry enjoyed taking on the tasks of maintaining their lake home. In this work as with all things in his life, Larry never waivered from his deep respect for everything, be it big or small, and endeavored to preserve the beauty and tranquility of the natural environment of their property. Throughout his life Larry was a humble champion of social justice, diligently working to improve the lives of many whose plight otherwise went unheard due to personal circumstances. He quietly and generously gave his personal time and resources to helping those in need find and maintain a better path and way in life. All those he touched in this life will miss Larry's patience, thoughtfulness, and genuine caring he consistently showed for others. A more gentle soul could not have been found. Larry was an example of what humanity can be. Larry is survived by his wife Deanne, of Detroit Lakes, MN; his son, Jeremy (Sonya) Schneider, of Maple Grove, MN; his sisters, Marilyn Blikre, Of Shelton, CT; and Jean (Dave) Farver, of Williston, ND; and brothers, Wayne (Linda) Bauste, of West Fargo, ND; and Robert (Angie) Bauste, of Grand Forks, ND; many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, who will miss him dearly, also survive Larry. Larry was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lloyd and Irene Bauste; his father in law and mother in law, Arthur and Eunice Borgeson; and his brother in law, Loren Blikre.
