Carlee Ann Frey

Carlee A. Frey age 49 of Detroit Lakes, MN died October 12, 2014 at her residence. Carlee Ann Frey was born on January 30, 1965 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Alden and Dorothy (Ulrich) Carlson. She grew up and attended school in Detroit Lakes, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 1983. February 23, 1985 she was united in marriage to Scott Frey in Audubon, MN. They made their home in Detroit Lakes. Carlee worked at Miguel's, JC Penney, and Ben Franklin in Detroit Lakes before opening her own framing shop "Carlee's Landing Custom Frame Shop." Carlee was very spiritual and had a strong faith in her Lord. She was very talented and creative, loved photography, to paint, sew quilts, crafts, her framing and even helped her husband restore a Model A. She enjoyed the outdoors very much, going for walks, fishing, camping, hunting, and rides in the country. She also loved animals, especially her horse and faithful companion Dandi, who lived over 30 years. Her precious dogs, Dizzy and Opie will be lost without her. She loved her boys and her nieces and nephews very much. She loved spending time with her sisters shopping and sewing. Family was very important to Carlee and she enjoyed having company at her home, cooking for them and making sure everyone was well fed. She will be remembered for her kind heart and her soft, sweet, beautiful smile. Carlee is survived by her husband, Scott; two sons, Brian (Rachel Bjork) Frey, Parkers Prairie, MN; and Johnny (Emily Hanson) Frey, Frazee, MN; six sisters, JoLeen (Dale) Kruger, Osage, MN; Deanna Noel, Frazee, MN; Connie (Ron) Baumgart, Colorado Springs, CO; Sheri (Doug) Leitheiser, Rochert, MN; Cari (Mike) Evavold, Dalton, MN; and Cally (Darby) Nundahl, Frazee, MN; five brothers, Lynnae (Robin) Guhlke, Lake Crystal, MN; Myron (Judy) Guhlke, Osakis, MN; Jay Guhlke, Colorado Springs, CO; Scott (Pam) Guhlke, Moorhead, MN; and Lee (Kristina) Carlson, Detroit Lakes, MN, step brother, Walter Wallace; Many nieces, nephews, and cousins; mother-in-law Lil Frey, Ogema; father-in-law Duane Frey; two sisters-in-law, Wendy Mehr, Ada, MN; and Cindy Frey, Ogema, MN; and brother-in-law, Shaun Frey, Frazee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aldie & Dorothy; stepfather, Harold Wallace; and sister, Arla Sunram.
