Allan Wallace Erickson

Allan Wallace Erickson, 66 rural Detroit Lakes, Minnesota died Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Allan was born on September 27, 1948, the son of Wallace and Alice(Nelson)Erickson in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. He graduated from Detroit Lakes High school in 1967.Allan was united in marriage to Janice Erickson on June 5, 1982 at Evangelical Church of North America in Wadena, Minnesota. Allan was a lifelong farmer in Richwood Township. He operated the family farm with dairy cows and agriculture. Allan also did some custom combining and mechanic work for his neighbors. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. Allan continued to farm until his health no longer would allow it. Allan enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed deer hunting with his family and friends. Allan is survived by his wife, Janice Erickson of Detroit Lakes, MN; sons, Adam (Kayla) Erickson; Andrew Erickson both of Detroit Lakes, MN; daughter, Ashley (Keith) Fredrickson of Stewart, MN; three grandchildren, Rylee, Austin and Alexis; brother, Walter (Donna) Erickson of Detroit Lakes, MN; sister, Kathleen (Rudy) Oien of Detroit Lakes, MN; three nieces; one nephew; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Allan was preceded in death by his parents.
