Violet Bernice Zachariason

Violet B. Zachariason age 95 of Detroit Lakes, MN died December 21, 2014 at Essentia Heath - Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes. Violet Bernice Zachariason was born April 21, 1919 in Hitterdal, MN to Nels and Ida Dahl. She grew up and received her education in Hitterdal. Following her schooling she helped on the family farm. On December 30, 1943 she was united in marriage to Clarence Zachariason in Lake Park, MN. They made their home in Norfolk, Virginia. In 1950 they moved to Detroit Lakes, MN, where she would live the rest of her life. She enjoyed sewing, baking, and her dogs. Time spent with grandchildren was very special to her. Violet is survived by one son, Gary (Deb) Zachariason, of Detroit Lakes, MN; two grandsons, Shannon (Laura) Zachariason, of Montrose, MN; and Chad Zachariason, of Prior Lake, MN; three great grandchildren, Lily, Blake, and Leah Zachariason; one sister, Evelyn Knutson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; one brother, Ervin Dahl, of Hawley, MN; and many nieces and nephews. Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence (1981); four brothers, Delvin, Walter, Clarence, and Elmer Dahl; and her parents.
