Elenora Mavis Adams

Elenora M. Adams age 72 of Detroit Lakes, MN died January 4, 2015 at Essentia Health - St. Mary's Hospital in Detroit Lakes. Elenora Mavis Adams was born May 21, 1942 in Bremen, ND to Maynard and Florence Nordgaard Simonson. The family moved to the Height of Land area near Detroit Lakes when Elenora was a young girl. She graduated from Frazee High School in 1960 and later attended business college in Detroit Lakes. In 1962 she was united in marriage to Cecil Adams at St. John's Lutheran Church near Height of Land. They made their home and raised their family in that area. Elenora worked for the Swift Turkey Plant in Detroit Lakes for many years, retiring from there in 1992. Her interests included playing cards and checkers, sewing, crocheting, going to the casino, and her dogs. She also enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband Cecil; one daughter, Twila (Paul Malikowski) Schmitz, of Detroit Lakes, MN; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Simonson, of Hillsboro, ND; and Manley Simonson, of Fargo, ND; one sister, Judy Nyberg, of Fargo, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Wannita Adams and DeeAnn Adams; one sister, Shirley Umphrey; one brother, Jerry Simonson; and her parents.
