Eleanore Frieda Lade, 88, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, died Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Ecumen-Emmanuel Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Eleanore was born on November 20, 1926, the daughter of Fred and Alvina (Bauman) Sternberg in Wilkin County, Minnesota. Eleanore was united in marriage to Lester Lade on October 18, 1950 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Ottertail County, Minnesota. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Duluth and later to Rothsay, Minnesota. In 1954, they purchased their farm in rural Detroit Lakes. They eventually started their dairy farm, which Eleanore and Lester ran for forty-two years. Eleanore enjoyed going to and having rummage sales at her home. She liked to read and loved spending time with her son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eleanore is survived by her son, Wesley Lade of rural Detroit Lakes, MN three grandchildren, Kyle (Beth) Lade, Alyson (Todd) Jensen and Troy Lade; four great-grandchildren, Brodi, Macy, Tally and Brooklyn; two brothers, Eddie Sternberg of Sarasota, FL; Walter (Resurrection) Lade of Minneapolis, MN; one sister, Alice Birkland of Luverne, MN; numerous nieces and nephews. Eleanore was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lester (2013), daughter, Sharron Lade, three brothers, Herman, Fritz and Art Sternberg, one sister, Elizabeth Raguse.
