Shirley Leone Kvilvang, 73, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota died on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Ecumen-Emmanuel Nursing Home, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Shirley was born on February 26, 1941, the daughter of Leo and Jennie (McKibbon) LeTourneau in Detroit Lakes. She was raised and educated in Detroit Lakes, graduating from high school in 1959. Shirley was united in marriage to James Kvilvang on July 22, 1963 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They made their home in Detroit Lakes, where she worked as a waitress, hairdresser and also helped on the family farm. Later in life she worked as a floral designer in area floral shops. Shirley also helped as a bookkeeper for her husband's trucking and insurance business. Shirley enjoyed quilting, painting, knitting and gardening. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, Jim when they drove truck throughout the United States. Shirley is survived by her sons, Michael Kvilvang of Detroit Lakes, MN; Myles (Cheryl) Kvilvang of Layton, UT; five grandchildren, Melissa (Mark) Longoria, Kyla (Justun) Mattison, Ryan, Ashley and Brayden Kvilvang; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Milo (Margaret) LeTourneau of Detroit Lakes, MN; several nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James (2011), infant daughter, Michelle and one sister, Sherrie Cresswell.
