Evy Viola Erickson

Evy V. Erickson age 75 of Audubon, MN died June 30, 2015 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND. Evy Viola Erickson was born September 21, 1939 in Drammen, Norway to Kare and Viola (Karlberg) Dyresen. She grew up and received her education in Norway. In August of 1956 she moved to the United States to live with her mother and stepfather Gilbert Gilbertson. On March 24, 1957 she was united in marriage to Norman Erickson at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, near Audubon, MN. They made their home and raised their family in the Audubon area. Evy worked as a Nurses Aide at the Sunnyside Care Center near Lake Park, MN, and also operated her own house cleaning business for several years. Evy was a very generous, friendly, outgoing person. She always made sure that everyone was taken care of before herself. She especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was known as "Grandma Evy" to many friends and neighborhood kids. She is survived by her husband, Norman; one daughter, Sharon (Don) Dentz, of North Bend, WA; three sons, Glenn (Susan) Erickson, of Audubon, MN; Paul (Sandra) Erickson, of Lynnwood, WA; and Eric (Diana) Erickson, of Everett, WA; six grandchildren, Amanda (Todd) North; Nicholas (Natasha) Erickson; Zachary (Dawn) Erickson; Adam (Teigan) Dentz; Madison (Daymon) Dentz; and Alexander Erickson; five great grandchildren, Jackson, Maxwell, and Grady North; and Gavin and Easton Erickson; three sisters, Kay (Scott) Lang, of Bismarck, ND; Arlene (Ken) Bachman, of Fargo, ND; and Nancy (David) Woodward, of Cape Coral, FL; one brother, Tore (Malgorzata) Dyresen, of Tofte, Norway; Aunt, Edith Sorenson, of Drammen, Norway; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Gilbert Gilbertson.
