Gregory P. Tessier, 67 of Rochert, Minnesota died Saturday, January 2, 2016 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Greg was born on October 4, 1948 to Noah and Clemence (Gervais) Tessier in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was raised and educated in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Greg graduated from White Bear Lake High School in 1966. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam and upon his return he was united in marriage to Sally Schultz on December 26, 1970 in White Bear Lake. They moved to Rochert in 1971, where they made their home. He worked for the Detroit Lakes School system for 38 years, retiring in 2013. Greg had a love of music and was part of the Silver Star Trio Band as a singer and played guitar in the 80’s. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Greg is survived by his wife, Sally Tessier of Rochert, MN ; daughter, Dawn (Eric) Mattfeld of Cloquet, MN; granddaughter, Jasmine Mattfeld; sister, Rita of Faribault, MN; two sisters-in-law, Sue (Duane) Wirth of Detroit Lakes, MN; Sarah (Bob) Bernier of White Bear Lake, MN; good friends and neighbor, Terry and Kathy Lehmann of Rochert, MN; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Greg was preceded in death by his parents.
