Doris L. Kuvaas 96 of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota died Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Oak Crossing, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. Doris was born on November 19, 1919 the daughter of Louis and Martha (Rasmussen) Busse in Ada, Minnesota. She was raised and educated in Ada. As a young child, Doris worked on the family farm helping with the daily chores. She was united in marriage to Ervin Kuvaas on September 21, 1940 in Ada. They moved to Detroit Lakes in the late 50’s and worked at Swift Turkey Plant. Doris later started a cleaning service and was resident manager at Park Manor until her retirement. Doris enjoyed fishing, baking and crafting. She was known for her great Lefse and loved being a grandma. Doris is survived by her three daughters, Lorie (Harold) Lee of Nevis, MN; Sherry (Gary) Villiard of Lake Park, MN; Kim (Danny) Gazaway of Woodstock, GA; five grandchildren, Jane (Kerry) Sturm, Jason Klatt, Jesse (Andrea) Kohler, Billie Jo (Andy Poteet) Kohler and Vincent Gazaway; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ervin (1981), two brothers, Clifford and William Busse, three sisters, Arlene Ambuehl, Alta Ambuehl and Verna Evanstad.
