Edward M. Leitheiser age 75 of Detroit Lakes, MN died May 31, 2016 at Essentia Health – Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes, MN. Edward Mark Leitheiser was born March 4, 1941 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Leonard and Harriet Huntley Leitheiser. He grew up and attended school in Detroit Lakes, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 1960. On Nov. 5, 1960 he was united in marriage to Linda Langer in Detroit Lakes, MN. They made their home and raised their family in Detroit Lakes. Over the years Ed worked as a welder at the Fargo Foundry, hauled lumber for UBC in Detroit Lakes, delivered propane for Ferrellgas in Detroit Lakes, and maintained the Frazee rest area. In the spring of the year he enjoyed collecting maple sap with his family. He made dozens and dozens of donuts for the Farmers Market. He also enjoyed making many varieties of lawn ornaments. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, building trailers, and tinkering in his shop. Ed is survived by his wife Linda; one son, Jeff (Linda) Leitheiser, of Detroit Lakes, MN; two daughters, Ellie (Chuck) Bachmann, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Mary (Ross) Marohl, of West Fargo, ND; daughter in law, Sharon Leitheiser, of Detroit Lakes, MN; eight grandchildren, Mandy, Greg, Anna, Kyle, Aaron, Tyler, Nichole, and Shayla; four great grandchildren, Raven, Presley, Lucas, and Zoey; one sister, Kathy (Cecil) Oelfke, of Frazee, MN; and two nieces and two nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his son Mark Leitheiser; granddaughter Cybil Marohl; his parents; and his father and mother in law, Walt and Rose Langer.
