Louise Coverston Mohrlant

Louise C. Mohrlant age 92 of Detroit Lakes, MN died June 8, 2016 at Ecumen – Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, MN. Louise Coverston Mohrlant was born September 3, 1923 in Independence County, AR to David and Harriet Knight Coverston. As an infant the family moved to Fort Bragg, CA , where Louise grew up and received her education. On August 2, 1942 she was united in marriage to Edward W. Mohrlant in Fort Bragg, CA. They moved to St. Paul, MN and in 1949 they moved to Detroit Lakes, MN. In 1966 they moved to Stillwater, MN and following Edward’s retirement in 1977 they moved back to Detroit Lakes. Louise has been a resident at Emmanuel Nursing Home since 2013. Louise was very active in the VFW, Legion, DAVA, and Eagles Ladies Auxiliaries. She loved children, animals, gardening, embroidery, and playing bingo. She is survived by two daughters, Diane (Kenneth) Kiehl, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Linda Achterling, of Detroit Lakes, MN; one son, Edward D. (Phyllis) Mohrlant, of St. Louis Park, MN; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; one brother, Dana Coverston, of Fort Bragg, CA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward (2001); one son, John Mohrlant; two daughters, DeeAnn Mohrlant and Kathryn Mohrlant; six brothers; and four sisters.
