Darlene A. Grant

Darlene A. Grant age 84 of Frazee, MN died August 8, 2016 at Essentia Health – St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes, MN.Darlene Adonna Grant was born December 22, 1931 in rural Fergus Falls, MN to Leon “Elmer” and Ermal Whipps. She attended country school in rural Fergus Falls, MN. She married Floyd Grant in Fergus Falls and they made their home there. Over the years Darlene worked in the Laundry business, managed gas stations, and worked as a cook in various restaurants.She enjoyed hunting and fishing with her dad in her early years. She also liked to sew, knit, and crochet. She enjoyed working on cars and could rebuild and engine or transmission with the best of them. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.Darlene is survived by four daughters, Dixie Enyart, of Richville, MN; Renee Anderson, of Mpls, MN; Cosette Ellis, of Frazee, MN; and Lanette (Darvy) Neitzart, of Frazee, MN; nine grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; two sons, Greg and Bruce Anderson; two brothers, Douglas and Ellsworth Whipps; and her parents.
