Larry A. Hanson age 65 of Detroit Lakes, MN formerly of Audubon, MN died September 26, 2016 at Essentia Health – Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes, MN. Larry Arthur Hanson was born December 25, 1950 in Fargo, ND to LeRoy and Signe (Moe) Hanson. He grew up and attended school in Audubon, graduating from Audubon High School in 1969. He then attended the Alexandria VoTech, where he learned to be a Parts Man. He served in the United States Army from 1970 – 1971 in artillery. He was stationed at Fort Lewis, WA and Fort Sill, OK before serving in Vietnam for five months. Following his discharge he farmed on the family farm until 2004 when he retired due to health issues. Larry loved to play cribbage. He enjoyed being around and visiting with people. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings and Twins fan and rarely missed a game on TV. But most of all he enjoyed time spent with family. He is survived by three brothers, David (Sharon) Hanson, of Dalton, MN; John (Mary) Hanson, of Audubon, MN; and Russell (LeAnn) Hanson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; one sister, Signe (Michael) Renshaw, of Andover, MN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant twin nephews, Daniel and Lonnie Hanson
