Lorraine M. Fingalson age 91 of Fargo, ND and Detroit Lakes, MN died March 22, 2017 at the Elim Care Center in Fargo, ND. Lorraine M. Fingalson was born on October 22, 1925 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Carl and Flossie (Wallace) Gjersvig. She grew up and received her education there, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 1943. On October 12, 1948 she was united in marriage to Donald Fingalson at the Bakke Lutheran Church near Detroit Lakes, MN. They made their home in Detroit Lakes. Over the years Lorraine worked at the Creamery, Gamble’s Department Store, and People’s Natural Gas in Detroit Lakes. But according to her, the most important and enjoyable job she ever had was when she moved to Fargo to live with her daughter and help care for her grandchildren. She enjoyed going to the casino, fishing, and being with her many good friends. She also loved hosting family and friends in her home. She is survived by one daughter, Lori (Shawn) Eidenschink, of Frontier, ND; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Nick Samuelson) Eidenschink; Austin Eidenschink; and Lillianne Eidenschink; one sister, Margie Johnson, of Olivia, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald (1993); two brothers, Eldon Gjersvig and Leonard Jersvig; brother in law, Charlie Johnson; her parents; and her dog, Bart. Funeral Services will be on Monday March 27, 2017; 11:00 a.m. at the Bakke Lutheran Church, Detroit Lakes, MN. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, MN and one hour prior to services at the Church. Interment will be in the Bakke Lutheran Church Cemetery.
