Richard A. Renner age 85 of Detroit Lakes, MN died June 14, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Fargo, ND. Richard Renner, son of Louis and Frances Renner, was born January 20, 1932 in Pelican Rapids, MN. He grew up and attended school in Pelican Rapids, graduating from Pelican Rapids High School in 1950. He served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. He was united in marriage to Alice Marie Disse on October 26, 1954 in Detroit Lakes, MN. They owned and operated a mink ranch near Detroit Lakes for 35 years. He also worked for Schatts Electric in Detroit Lakes for a number of years. He was a member of the Lake Region Fur Association and served as President for two years. He enjoyed duck hunting, and later in life he started running and competed in several half marathons. He is survived by four daughters, Debra (Gary) Zachariason; LaVerne (Roger) Moltzan; Valerie (Peter) Bushaw; and Beth Renner and like his own daughter, Lianne Rockstad; four sons, Paul (Beth) Renner; Dale (Becky) Renner; Kenneth (Kim) Renner; and Ross (Tracy) Renner; fifteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three brothers, David (Marlene) Renner; Gene (Lenice) Renner; and John Renner; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Alice; two granddaughters, Emilee and Erin; two great granddaughters, Marie and Alice; three brothers, Robert Renner, Leonard Renner, and James Renner; and his parents.
