William C. Kivi age 88 of Richwood, MN died June 28, 2017 at his residence, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. William Charles Kivi was born February 22, 1929 near Strawberry Lake in rural Ogema, MN to Axel and Rauha (Nummelin) Kivi. He attended country school near his home and later attended school in Waubun, MN, graduating from Waubun High School in 1946. On June 17, 1950 he was united in marriage to Jeanine Roberts in White Earth, MN. They made their home in Richwood, MN. Bill worked as a parts man for Chevrolet in Detroit Lakes, MN for twenty two years. He later worked for Swanson’s Repair for another twenty two years and then eight years for Hedahl’s, both in Detroit Lakes, MN. He was also part owner of the KS Sawmill in Detroit Lakes. Bill enjoyed being in the woods hunting, cutting wood, and fishing. He also loved time spent with his family. He is survived by his wife, Jeanine; five daughters, Joan (Bill) Lindsay, of Richwood, MN; Nancy Johnson, of Mulvane, KS; Mary (Stan) Seaberg, of Detroit Lakes, MN; Connie (Steve) Olgaard, of Fargo, ND; and Sharon (Mark) Kivi, of Red Wing, MN; one son, Don (Tracie) Kivi, of West Fargo, ND; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Kivi, of Redland, WA; and Eugene (Mary) Kivi, of St. Cloud, MN; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three grandchildren; one great grandchild; two brothers, Heimo Kivi and Vaino Kivi; three sisters, Catherine Tapanila; Gertrude Farney; and Margaret Aldridge; son in law, Rick Johnson; and his parents.
