Carol F. Hukriede age 75 of Detroit Lakes, MN died Saturday September 16, 2017 at Essentia Health – St. Mary’s Hospital in Detroit Lakes, MN. Carol Faye Hukriede was born August 9, 1942 in Hankinson, ND to Hans and Anna Figge Andresen. The family moved to Detroit Lakes when Carol was a young girl. She attended Country School in Richwood Township. She later attended school in Detroit Lakes, graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 1960. On July 9, 1961 she was united in marriage to Ernest Hukriede at Lund Lutheran Church, rural Detroit Lakes, MN. Over the years Carol worked in various banks in the area, including seventeen years at First National Bank in Detroit Lakes. She also sold real estate and insurance, and owned her own ceramics shop, “Carol’s Country Ceramics”. Carol enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and making her own wine. Time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was very important to her. She is survived by one son, Brett (Kim) Hukriede, of Rochert, MN; one daughter, Kim (James) Erickson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one brother, Wayne (Cheryl) Andresen, of Spokane, WA; one brother in law, Arlin Nordgulen; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest; four sisters, Dorothy Erlandson, Jean Johnson, Betty Nordgulen, and Mary Rudolph; one grandson, Lucas Hukriede; and her parents.
