Charles Madson of Detroit Lakes died on Oct 13, 2024, at Oak Crossing. He was 95 years old.
Charles was born at home in Audubon. After attending school locally, he helped his father on the farm. He was stationed in Alaska while in the Army during the Korean War. He farmed briefly after marriage, and then moved his family to the Twin Cities and held various jobs as a warehouse employee. He moved back to Detroit Lakes after the death of his wife.
He leaves behind one daughter Cheryl, two grandchildren Tyler Carlson and Nicole Carlson, and one sister Beverly Wilson, and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Agnes, wife Yvonne, daughter Linda Carlson, brother Donnie and sisters Delores Johnson and Lucille Kaiser.
The family will host a memorial gathering at Trinity Lutheran Church on Oct. 29, from 7-8:30 pm. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, to instead make donations to Trinity.
