Donna M. Mayberry age 82 of Detroit Lakes, MN died peacefully at home on September 28, 2022 with her daughter and under the care of Hospice.
Donna Mayberry was born November 24, 1939 in rural Frazee, MN to William and Mary Ann (Cartwright) Wacker. She attended Country School near her home. She then helped her Dad around the homeplace with chores and tending to the needs of her siblings. In 1956 she was united in marriage to Vernon Mayberry. They lived in Spokane, WA while Vernon served in the Navy. When he was discharged they moved to Minneapolis, MN. In 1973 they moved back to Frazee, where they owned and operated the Waterfront Resort on Big Toad Lake. They later moved back to Minneapolis, where they owned and operated an Acrylic Manufacturing Company. Shortly after Vernon’s death Donna moved to Detroit Lakes.
Donna loved the outdoors, gardening, and growing flowers. She also enjoyed playing cribbage, chess, Yahtzee, and any card games. She was a very caring, loving, and kind person who was known for her smile.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie Newell, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Sandra (Don) Fudge, of Ottertail, MN; four grandsons, William Chris Stone, Dustin Newell, Brandon Newell, and Nick Fudge; six great grandchildren; two brothers, William (Lea) Wacker, of Becker, MN; and Donald (Linda) Wacker, of Detroit Lakes, MN; one sister, Margie (Roger) Tolson, of Post Falls, ID; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; one son, Daniel Mayberry; three grandsons, Justin Mayberry, Ryan Fudge, and Weston Fudge; one sister, Joyce Arnold; and her parents.
