Gladys Mae Durand

Gladys Mae Durand, 86, died on March 2nd, 2024, passing peacefully at her residence, Pelican Landing.  

Gladys was born July 9th,1937, daughter of John & Alma (Leland) Danielson. She was raised in a loving family in Homesville Township. That's where she attended school, then went to Detroit Lakes High School and had further education at Concordia College 

Gladys married Stan Ulrich in 1958, and they raised their three daughters on Marshall Lake. They moved to Moorhead. They were divorced 1975, she lived in her home for 50 years.

She worked at DeLendrecies, then Herberger’s. She loved her work, helping others look their best. She married the love of her life, after 18 years of courtship, Larry Durand in 1997, She shared her happiest years until he died in 2001. She was known for her encouraging words, faith, and her infectious smile. She would brighten up everyone with her smile.

She leaves behind three daughter's Danielle Franks, Lezlee (Jeffrey) Engelstad and Marna Ulrich, three grandchildren Mikkael Franks, Anthea (Dan) Countryman and Jace B. Engelstad & two great-granddaughters, Caroline and Betsy Countryman. 

Services honoring Gladys' life will be held on Monday, March 18th, 2024, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at Lund Lutheran Church located at 25213 Co. Hwy 21, Detroit Lakes, MN 56501.
