Joyce Ann Rodewald

Joyce A. Rodewald age 78 of Detroit Lakes, MN died February 5, 2025, at Sanford Broadway Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

Joyce Ann Rodewald was born November 29, 1946, in Detroit Lakes, MN to Louis and Ella (Ziemann) Quittschreiber. She grew up on a farm in rural Frazee, MN. She received her education in Frazee, graduating from Frazee High School. Following high school Joyce and her sister Janet both attended the Alexandria Vocational College. She later moved to Moorhead, MN, where she worked at the Eventide Nursing Home. On June 18, 1971, she was united in marriage to David Rodewald at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Evergreen. They made their home and raised their family on a farm near Callaway, MN. Joyce was always a very active participant in the daily work on the farm. They later moved to Audubon, MN for a number of years. Joyce and David have currently been residents at Diamond Willow Assisted Living in Detroit Lakes.

Joyce was a very strong, capable woman, who didn’t allow her disability to slow her down. She will be remembered for being caring, loving, and a good listener. One of the things that she loved to do was going on rides at theme parks.

She is survived by her husband David; one daughter, Carol (Steven) Anderson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; one son, Kevin (Tiffany) Rodewald, of Perham, MN; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Samantha, Jadon, Breahna, Jaelyn, Kenzlee, and Bricker; two great grandchildren, Gabriel and Penelope; one sister, Alice Berg, of Twin Valley, MN; two brothers, Vernon (Bernadette) Quittschreiber and Richard (Mary) Quittschreiber; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Donald and Harold Quittschreiber; and one sister, Janet Reiling.
