Kenneth Robert Erickson

Kenneth (Kenny) Robert Erickson was born in Oak Park, Illinois on May 17, 1962. Kenny attended school in Fargo, ND, Callaway, MN and lastly Audubon, MN. After school Kenny went to work farming with the Donley brothers, (Glenn, Lyle, and John) in Callaway, MN. The brothers thought very highly of Kenny. After four years Kenny decided to get into trucking like his dad Robert. He first drove for Can-Am Trucking, then went on to Foltz Trucking. He drove for Foltz until he decided he wanted to lease his own truck. After some years he decided to sell his truck and went to work driving for BM Transport. During these years driving he always took his beloved companion (Kohko Puff) with him. Kohko Puff was his miniature Pinscher dog that he cherished. They spent thousands of miles and memories together until her passing in 2011. Kenny’s last job was with FM Asphalt out of Fargo-Moorhead. Kenny was still driving when he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in May 2024. He continued driving until August 2024 when he could no longer. Driving was definitely his passion. Kenny spent his last months at home under Hospice care and the loving care of his mother Mavis.

In his down time Kenny enjoyed staying home watching movies. He also enjoyed meeting up with his brother Gordon and friends at Mrs. B’s in Perham.

Kenny fought a long hard battle surrounded by family and will truly be missed.

Survivors who will miss him dearly include his mother, Mavis Schiermeister, of Perham, MN; brother, Gordon (Sandy) Erickson, of Perham, MN; sister, Debbie Matson, of Detroit Lakes, MN; brother Eric (Melanie) Erickson, of Frazee, MN; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Robert Phillip Erickson; and grandparents, Phillip and Gertrude Erickson and William and Mabel Sellner.
