Kenneth R. Gulseth age 79 of Detroit Lakes, MN died May 7, 2020 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.
Kenneth Roger Gulseth was born May 7, 1941 in Perham, MN to Marvin and Emma (Engel) Gulseth. The family moved to Richwood Township, in rural Detroit Lakes when Ken was a young boy. He attended country school near his home and later attended high school in Detroit Lakes, graduating in 1959. He served in the National Guard and attended North Dakota State University for two years before starting his career with the Minnesota Department of Transportation as a Draftsman in 1961. On June3, 1967 he was united in marriage to Pam Britton in Billings, MT. They made their home and raised their family in Detroit Lakes. Ken retired in 2003.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, curling, cutting wood, and playing softball and dominos. He also enjoyed gardening and was active in the Farmer’s Market.
He is survived by his wife Pam; one daughter, Kari (Kendall) Warren, of Moorhead, MN; two sons, Al (Amy) Gulseth, of Moorhead, MN; and Mark (Meredith) Gulseth, of Detroit Lakes, MN; eight grandchildren, Bailee, Conner, Jayden, Taylor, Jaeger, Annika, Ryker, and Cooper; two sisters, Lorraine (Val) Seaberg, of Detroit Lakes, MN; and Linda (Neil) Britton, of Preston, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, LeAnne Gulseth; one brother, Herbert Gulseth; and his parents.
Graveside Services will be on Thursday May 14, 2020; 3:00 p.m. at the Richwood Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Detroit Lakes, MN. Visitation will be on Thursday from 12 noon – 2:30 p.m. at the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, MN.
Visitation will be following COVID-19 guidelines with only 10 people allowed in the building at a time.
