Marcille Luvain Marotzke

Marcille L. Marotzke age 91 of Detroit Lakes, MN died August 16, 2018 at Ecumen – The Cottage in Detroit Lakes, MN. Marcille Luvain Marotzke was born January 6, 1927 in Rushmore, MN to Emil and Freda (Brinkhouse) Marotzke. She grew up and received her education in Detroit Lakes. Following high school, she graduated from business college in Detroit Lakes. She worked as the Business Manager for the Detroit Lakes School District her entire working life. Marcille was known for her very flamboyant personality. She was an accomplished artist and enjoyed various arts and crafts. She enjoyed politics and looked forward to celebrating Halloween every year. She is survived by one brother, Ralph Marotzke, of Eden Prairie, MN; nine nieces and nephews; and two sisters in law, Pat Zurn, of Detroit Lakes, MN and Joan Marotzke, of Detroit Lakes, MN. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin Marotzke and Emil Marotzke; an infant sister, Maxine; and her parents. A Celebration of Marcille’s life will be held on Friday August 24, 2018; 11:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Detroit Lakes, MN. Arrangements have been entrusted to the West-Kjos Funeral Home, Detroit Lakes, MN.
