Mary June Kiehl

On Christmas Day 1935 Mary June Ellingson was born to John and Alice (Oftelie) Ellingson in Callaway, Minnesota and entered eternal rest on December 17, 2024. Mary grew up in the Audubon area and attended schools in Detroit Lakes, Lake Park and Audubon. She married Lester Kiehl on September 6, 1952. They dairy farmed south of Audubon until retiring in 2000. Mary loved to read, enjoyed animals, and had gorgeous flower beds.

Mary is survived by her husband Lester, of 72 years; children, Gloria (Douglas), Kathy, Lester Jr. (Brenda), Jim (Amanda), and Joe; 11 grandchildren, Jeremie, Tony, Twyla, Krystal, Keith, Lester III, Holly, Angela, Faith, Tim, and Meghan; 24 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; 5 nieces; and 1 nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and 2 brothers, John and Gene Ellingson.

Funeral Services will be on Friday December 20, 2024; 2:00 p.m. at the West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Augustana Lutheran Cemetery, rural Detroit Lakes, MN. Arrangements have been entrusted to the West-Kjos Funeral Home of Detroit Lakes.
