Roger Dale Nelson

Roger Dale Nelson, 78, Detroit Lakes, MN died on September 2, 2019 in his home surrounded by his loved ones. Roger D Nelson was born on August 1, 1941 in Fargo, North Dakota to Arnold and Borghild Nelson.  He attended Fargo Central High School and graduated in 1959.  He was united in marriage to Maxine Bloom in Moorhead, MN and into this union, two daughters were born, Wendy and Kim.  Roger worked for Beverage Wholesalers for 26 years, Trans Systems for 20 years, and Rolling Hills Golf Course for 14 years. Roger loved and cherished his 3 favorite girls Georgia, Kim, and Wendy.  He and Georgia were loving companions making many wonderful memories the past 15 years. Roger and Georgia loved to travel.  He left this world knowing how much we all loved him. Roger is survived by Georgia Henrickson, Detroit Lakes, MN; daughters, Wendy (Terry) Kohler of Audubon, MN and Kim (John) Nelson-Wyandt of Chaska, MN; sister Carol (Jerry) Prijtel; sister-in-law Ruth (Curt) Harmon; and Georgia’s sister Deb (Wayne) Differding; five grandchildren Taylor, Ellie, Benny, Emma and Brody; Georgia’s children Tricia (Scot) Erickson, Todd (Lori) Henrickson, Kent (Karen) Henrickson; Georgia’s grandchildren Taylor (Sarah), Brooke (James), Jason, Barrett, Jack, Neil and Haley. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Borghild Nelson of Fargo, ND. The family would like to thank Sanford-Roger Maris Cancer Center and Hospice of the Red River Valley.  A special thank you to Georgia for loving our Dad and for taking such good care of him, especially over the past year.
