William Richard Hoglund passed away at his home on January 6th, 2019 at the age of 63. William was born January 28th, 1955 to Willard and Christine (Swenson) Hoglund. He grew up and graduated from Willmar High School. After graduation he enlisted into the Air Force as an Avionics Instrument repairman. When he came home he worked for the Great Northern Railroad. William moved to Minneapolis and worked at Metalmatics. William married Lorrie Ksiazek and to the union two sons were born, Andrew and Christopher. William lived in St Cloud and attended St Cloud State University receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in geography. William travelled to Oregon, living there for a short while enjoying the fishing and hunting. He was also very interested in Astronomy. William enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved his cats Jake and Ginger. Rick volunteered at the Humane Society caring for the cats. He also worked at Helping Hands Thrift Store in Detroit Lakes. William is survived by his sons Andrew Hoglund and Christopher (Nicole) Hoglund; grand-daughter Brittney and grandson Evan; sisters Helen Skoglund, Katherine (Bruce) Ketchum, Carol (Robert) Weitnauer, and Linda Kohls; special friends Scott Jungen and Mary Beth Bonham; uncle Ruben Hoglund; aunt Ruth; sister-in-law Kathryn Hoglund; several cousins, nieces and nephews. William was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brother, Howard Hoglund, brother-in-law Chester Skoglund, nephew Jeremy Kohls, aunts, uncles and special friend Pam Bengston. William will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday May 11, 2019; 1:00 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery, Wilmar, MN.
